Ferry Flights
Perhaps a sign of the times but it appears that most of the interesting aircraft are ferrying out of our area to other parts of the world.
Grumman Mallard VH-JAW of Helicopter Resources has been parked atTyabb, Victoria since May 1989, while being advertised for sale. As N73AH the Mallard departed Tyabb for Archerfield on June 1st. After fitment of ferry tanks N73AH was flown to Florida, where it now awaits sale. VH-JAW, which is a Frakes conversion of the Mallard, was imported in April 1983 by Air Whitsunday. In July 1985 the Mallard was sold to Vowell Air Services for operations out of Karratha in WA. Meanwhile the two remaining Mallards in Australia, VH-LAW and VH-OAW continue to operate for Paspaley Pearling out of Darwin.
