Deliveries of aircraft to Ansett New Zealand, Australia, IPEC and Qantas together with changes to the Australian domestic charter fleet are the main topics of interest.
Ansett New Zealand took delivery of their fifth and final BAe146-300 ZK-NZJ msn E-3147 at Christchurch on February 24th. In October 1989 Ansett New Zealand leased BAe146-200GC G-BPBT msn E-2119 for a period of six months from British Aerospace. The operation of the aircraft was evidently a success as Ansett New Zealand have purchased the BAe146-200QC. Purchase of the aircraft was evidently carried out on Norfolk Island as on January 24th G-BPBT was flown there from New Zealand. The following day it returned to Christchurch now carrying the New Zealand registration ZK-NZC. Ansett New Zealand has sold Boeing 737-2A6 ZK-NEE to Air Lanka. Registered 4R-ULL and using call sign Air Lanka 005 the all white Boeing transitted Brisbane on February 3rd enroute Christchurch to Darwin. Boeing 737-130s ZK-NEA, ZK-NEB and ZK-NEC which are stored at Christchurch are presently being advertised for sale.
