Boost in Aerospatiale Sales
An order from the Swedish Air Force for 1 O aircraft has boosted the sales of the AS332 Super Puma family to 260 with the aircraft now comprising 45% of the current Aerospatiale workload. The company has also received an order for 30 Gazelle recce halos from the French Army. This latest order takes total Gazelle orders to 1,238 from 142 customers in 41 countries.
Meanwhile, Aerospatiale has successfully fought off strong international competition to win the initial stage of what could ultimately be an order for up to 500 helicopters for the Brazilian armed forces. The initial order is for 16 Squirrel and 36 Dauphin light helos and is valued at just over $A300m.
