Penguin Express Buys a Dove
In Traffic, March issue we detailed what had happened to the 6 DH104 Dove aircraft previously operated by the NTMS. We made mentioned that the only airworthy Dove left in Australia was VH-ABM of Pays Air Services, Scone. The recent sale of this aircraft and research into the whereabouts of the remaining Doves and Devons in Australia has resulted in the following.
Penguin Express based at Essendon Airport offer a unique service to the tourist industry. Operating C402 or PA31 aircraft they fly groups of tourists from Essendon to Phillip Island to see the Fairy Penguin parade. For some time Penguin Express have been looking for a larger capacity aircraft so it was no surprise when they reached an agreement with Pays Air Services for the purchase of Riley Doves VH-ABK and VH-ABM.
