Air New Zealand Looks to Europe
After a year of company refusals to confirm or deny, Air New Zealand admits it is seeking a route destination on the European mainland. The airline wants to fly into Germany and Frankfurt is the considered terminal. Government-to-government talks have concluded agreeably and negotiations are now taking place between Air New Zealand and Lufthansa.
According to the Minister of Civil Aviation, Mr Richard Prebble, there is a possibility Lufthansa might not take up its bilateral rights at the same time as Air New Zealand, but could enter into some sort of ‘commercial arrangement’ with the New Zealand airline when services begin.
