The new Lotus/Eipper ultralight in trials above the Mojave Desert. Eipper have now reached the final stages of development in their two-cylinder four stroke engine that they built in conjunction with Lotus. It is not known when the new ultralight will be available for public sale.

In what amounts to a dramatic development for the future of ultralight aviation in Australia the Department of Aviation is studying, and we believe about to approve, a vastly improved set of operating standards that will be now known as 95. 55. The dropping of . 22 was largely cosmetic in an effort to bring the new into line with 100. 55 and 101. 55AirWorthiness Standards (AWS).
