The birth of Pacific Aviation sees a general aviation organisation rivalling the vast Hawker Pacific operation, and which could well eventually emerge as the largest GA organisation in the southern hemisphere.

It’s not the case of a new boy arriving at school, for Pacific Aviation is made up of a collection of old established general aviation companies, the names of which are well known to the aviation industry.

And the driving forces behind Pacific are none other than Ansett Transport Industries and Consolidated Press Holdings, two corporate giants, with Sir Peter Abeles and Mr Rupert Murdock at the helm of Ansett, and Mr Kerry Packer ruling over the media organisation. The situation is perhaps a case of strange bedfellows, but the undisputed business acumen of the corporate leaders behind Pacific Aviation ensure that the organisation will succeed.
