Hawker Sea Fury Flys

The 14th of November 1983 saw the first flight of Guido Zuccoli’s Hawker Sea Fury at Darwin, NT. This former Iraqi Air Force machine, a version of the RN IRAN type naval Sea Fury has been under build for some two years now. Two more of the type are under rebuild at Darwin, for new owners in Mackay and Melbourne, plus another Fury in West Australia. Guido went to the USA for flight training on a two-seat Sea Fury operated there.

This first Australian Fury, VH-HFG, is painted up as a RAN F. A. A. Hawker Sea Fury, complete with code 308 on the fuselage. On the Tuesday before Christmas Guido flew the large Warbird from Darwin to its new base at Toowoomba, Old.
