The Canadian aircraft industry has made a most valuable contribution to Australian aviation in the post-World War II period. Many aircraft spring immediately to mind and they typify the diversity of Canadian aviation. The Chipmunk for training, the Beaver for general and agricultural use, the Caribou for transport and one of the mainstays of third-level operators, the Twin Otter, are the most visible. One of the most lasting contributors has been the ubiquitous Beaver, in Australian service for over 28 years and seemingly destined for a place in the general aviation scene for many years to come. The Beaver and its development the Otter, helped to establish the growing Canadian presence In Australia.
