Airtest – Aerospatiale AS355F Twin Squirrel

The first rotary wing aircraft in the light twin range – the Aerospatiale Ecureuil AS 355 F six-seat all-purpose helicopter – to arrive in Australia already certified to demand FAR 27 requirements, is now operational with its first customer.

And according to David Irons, General Manager of the Australian distributor, Rex Aviation, its arrival is the front-runner to a whole new ball game in corporate, general purpose and charter travel in this nation.

It’s been all said before, but there’s a feel of purpose in David Irons’ statement – it is backed up by a significant $7. 5 million investment in spares, a fully-equipped servicing base at Bankstown, NSW, and the solidity of being a Southern hemisphere arm of the world’s biggest exporter of rotary wing aircraft.
