Harsh words? Not really; One Australian government of the day let the brave Victa project slip through its fingers through lack of real interest – and now the Fraser administration looks like doing the identical thing with the Transavia project.

But there’s a comforting difference in the two setups; Victa was denied a significant subsidy and went down the drain. Transavia has the giant Transfield organisation to back it if the going gets really tough.
