National Transportation Safety Board Enquiry Into General Aviation, Accidents Provides Interesting Conclusions

It’s not often one sees the result of four years of accident statistics compressed into 77 pages of succinct, easy-to-read data.

The US National Transportation & Safety Board data in question has been compiled from 21,366 GA accidents, including more than 3,500 fatal accidents which took 6,941 lives, between 1972 and 1976.

Single-engine light aircraft accounted for 81 percent of the overall total and 69. 2 per cent of the fatalities listed.
