Hercules, Airlifter to The World

Amidst the blaze of emergency lighting, rescue teams performed miracles to keep alive the injured from what became the world’s worst air disaster. Wreckage from the two heavily laden Seven Forty Sevens spread the entire length and breadth of the operational area of Tenerife airport.

With the help of dozers a restricted portion of the main runway had been cleared, no longer than a few thousand feet, it would now provide host to an aircraft type that would, tonight, as it had so many times before in recent history, play saviour to those air crash survivors desperately in need of the intensive care available only on thelf1rger island of Las Palmas.

Once again Lockheed’s Hercules airlifted performs a mission of mercy that no other aircraft in the world today is able to match. Whether it is an earthquake in Turkey, famine in Nepal, floods in Queensland or a hurricane in the Caribbean to offer Hercules aid and assistance.
