Comment: Defence Industry­ – Triumph of Difficulties Over Needs

The field of defence industry in Australia is a classic example of a widespread and growing custom in the Western world of allowing real or imagined difficulties to prevent the implementation of key policies.

(This paper is submitted on behalf of the Victorian Branch of the Australia Defence Association, but represents a personal view and not necessarily that of the Association).

Gone it seems are the days when governments determined first that a policy was to be implemented, and then old the appropriate departments to get on with the job.
