It is rare, even in this technological era, to see light air­craft sell themselves through sheer all-round performance and efficiency.

Grumman American now appear to have found such machines in their light singles range – the family of Big Cats appearing in increasing numbers throughout the nation.

The nastiest thing which could be said about the little GA Trainer and TR-2 when they first flew in Australia was that the fuselage honeycomb sandwich construction would be hard to repair or replace if punctured or otherwise fractured.
