Working with creative agency The Monkeys, the Flying Kangaroo has shot a new ad with real footage of a mother of four being reunited with her adult son, who has been living in Japan since before the pandemic, on her 60th birthday.

The incident on 29 April occurred when a flight departing for Brisbane was cleared to take off on Sydney’s parallel runway 16L at the same time as a flight arriving from Queenstown was landing. Each plane was carrying around 170 passengers.

The 4Cyte clinic in the international terminal is set to close at 6pm today, following the closure of the Histopath clinic last Friday. The two clinics tested 147,244 passengers between them over the past 18 months.

Virgin’s shareholders – including Bain, the Virgin Group, and Queensland Investment Corp – will each take a share of a $730 million capital return proportionate to their stakes in the airline, or 93 per cent, five per cent, and two per cent respectively.

Babcock will operate two multi-mission Leonardo AW139 helicopters with “increased speed, range and operational capability” to provide 24/7 services in the region.

The government is conducting a 90-day review of the entire $120 billion Infrastructure Investment Program pipeline, which includes the $10 billion Melbourne Airport rail link originally slated to open by 2029. The broader Suburban Rail Loop project is exempt from the review.
