The AFP has backed this warning up with an increase of patrols across major Australian airports during the holiday period.

The Boeing C-17A Globemaster III, ZZ177, departed at 5:42pm on Tuesday as flight KRF01R and landed at RAF Northolt in London at 6:54pm.

The first flight under the unique partnership departed on Tuesday, with ZK-NFA taking off from Christchurch at 11:49am as NZ8844 and landing in Nelson at 12:40pm, local time.
