Nicknamed ‘Great Ocean Road’, VH-OGA, which touched down in Sydney at 9:45am on Wednesday, flew for more than 20 hours from the Airbus factory in Hamburg, making only a single stop en route in Bangkok.
The flight lifted off from Starbase in Texas at 5:30pm CT on Thursday, 6 March, before the upper stage exploded, raining debris down in a dramatic light show that caused significant disruption to commercial aircraft in the area.
The approval follows the ACCC backing the deal, and comes after Transport Minister Catherine King controversially rejected a separate attempt for Qatar to launch more international flights directly in 2023.
