Greg Foran has said he is confident international travel will resume early next year but thinks quarantine-free travel to Australia will be different than before.

Treasurer Josh Frydenberg has urged state premiers to “adhere to the plan” of reopening borders when the vaccination target has been reached, for the economy and people’s mental health.

More than 10,000 people have received the jab at Auckland Airport’s drive-through vaccination center since it was established days after the New Zealand Alert Level 4 restrictions began.

Western Australia has tightened its border restrictions by declaring New South Wales an ‘extreme risk’ and adding a ban on travellers from New Zealand.

Funding was led by defence and aerospace contractor Quickstep Holdings Limited, which invested $1 million in the latest round.

The news means limited daily flights will still operate from Auckland, Christchurch, Wellington and Dunedin for essential workers or for reasons approved by the government.
