The long-awaited vaccine passport for international travel is due to be rolled out by the Australian Government from Tuesday this week, as the country prepares to re-open its international borders for the first time since March 2020.

Qantas has officially announced it will bring forward its planned restart date for international flights to 1 November, following the NSW government’s decision to allow quarantine-free travel from this date to fully vaccinated Australians.

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has said that foreign tourists will not yet be granted permission to travel to Australia on 1 November, despite NSW Premier Dominic Perrottet seemingly suggesting they could. 

Qantas has officially offloaded all 13.8 hectares of surplus land it had for sale in Mascot to a consortium led by LOGOS Property Group.

The new rules appear to be a slight deviation from the national plan announced by the Prime Minister earlier this month, which specified a seven-day period of home quarantine for returned travellers.

Australia’s economy domestic airfares have reached their lowest level since 2012, as airlines release a slew of cheap tickets to lure in customers despite ongoing border restrictions.
