The latest updates as Australia’s international travel ban lifts and Qantas readies for its first long-haul, commercial international flight since the start of the COVID crisis.

Singapore Airlines has celebrated the reopening of Australia’s international borders, and welcomed the Australian Government’s announcement to introduce a quarantine-free travel bubble with Singapore from 21 November.

The first uncapped and quarantine-free international flights touched down in Sydney on Monday morning, after nearly two years of strict border restrictions.

While Tasmania and Western Australia have largely kept their domestic borders open to each other throughout the pandemic, this could soon change.

It comes as South Australian Premier Steven Marshall revealled the state will ease its border restrictions for double-vaccinated travellers from NSW and Victoria from November 23.
