Plans for a quarantine facility that would facilitate the return of international students at Parafield Airport have now been scrapped, as South Australia prepares to instead welcome back students from overseas with no quarantine requirements.

In May this year, Hrdlicka suggested that once Australia hits major vaccination targets, the country will have to reopen its international borders, even if “some people may die”.

While currently, double-jabbed Australians are now free to leave the country, where they are allowed to travel is largely dictated by the entry requirements of each country.

According to the airline, four of its current six 737s have been hooked up with Intelsat 2Ku Wi-Fi systems so far, with the remaining two to be similarly equipped over the coming months.

The airline has already installed the newly upgraded cabins, which include enhanced business class seats, on two of its nine brand new Boeing 737-800 aircraft.
