The aircraft, to be based in Broome, will support PHI’s offshore energy transportation activities, as well as search and rescue and medevac operations. The company has three Australian bases in Broome, Exmouth and Darwin.
The visits are part of a series of activities the Air Force is conducting across the north-west of WA, exploring opportunities, building relationships and exposing its people to operating from remote locations outside their home bases.
The survey – conducted by Agile Market Intelligence in partnership with Defence Connect – asks businesses to evaluate the performance of large defence contractors they have collaborated with.
Currently unpainted, the aircraft is one of three 737NGs on British soil undergoing modification by a team of over 100 people at STS Aviation Services in Birmingham.
The successful test flight demonstrated the system’s ability to operate in the harsh environment over the Arctic Ocean, providing critical intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and targeting capabilities in the “High North”.
