Qantas has finally retired its fleet of the iconic aircraft type months after the last plane was quietly brought out of a high-profile retirement.

Authorities said a “search and seizure operation” was carried out on Thursday at three separation locations to investigate charges of professional negligence resulting in death.

The woman was with a fellow male crew member who was allegedly robbed and later taken to hospital with facial injuries in an incident that occurred outside the Bar One nightclub.

In a statement, a spokesperson for Defence said future drone investments would “work together and complement crewed systems”.

The country’s Deputy Transport Minister, Joo Jong-wan, said its contents were now being converted into an audio format, while the second box, the flight data recorder, was being sent to the US for analysis after it was damaged.

The decision to allow non-citizens originally from Five Eyes countries to join the ADF was announced six months ago, in a bid to alleviate a skill shortage in the military.
