Douglas B-26C invader on the move
Archerfield’s loss is Parafield’s gain. For several years the yellow Douglas B-26C Invader, VH-VNI, has been part of the scene at Archerfield but now it is on the move to Parafield airport in South Australia.
Imported as C-FPGP in 2006 the aircraft arrived at Archerfield with the intent that owner, Randel McFarlane, would be able to display it around Australia. Things changed and the machine was put up for sale in 2012 then for around $180,000. It was bought in 2014 by Peter Smythe/Reevers Pastoral Pty Ltd. Reevers has come onto the local warbird scene with a number of projects including a B25, Yale, B17, P43, Spitfire and now the B26C Invader.
