Alison Williams has taken up the new Ansett position of Director, Strategy and Planning. Kiwi International Airlines’ new managers for Victoria and WA respectively are Dean Cleaver and Rick Shepard. Qantas has appointed John Kerr (DoT’s former Assistant Secretary, International Relations Branch, Aviation Policy Division) as its General Manager International Relations.

Singapore Airlines Group has posted an $S1.05bn ($A930m) operating profit for the 1995/96 financial year, an increase of 12.38% over the previous year. Profit after tax was $S1.08bn ($A956m). Within this, the airline’s operating profit actually fell by 7.4% to $S756m ($A670m) as a 5.2% increase in revenue failed to keep pace with a 7.3% increase in expenditure. SIA’s subsidiaries profits improved 154% to $S289m ($A256m).
