Virgin and Boeing discuss the sector’s push towards sustainability.
IATA has set the industry a target of fully decarbonising by 2050, but how realistic is it? At the Australian Aviation Summit, Virgin’s head of decarbonisation, Daniel Dott, and Boeing’s regional lead on sustainability, Dr Kimberly Camrass, talked about the issue and how important sustainable aviation fuels (SAFs) will be. It came weeks after Toowoomba Wellcamp Airport owner Wagner signed a memorandum of understanding with Boeing to help develop a local SAF industry.
