787-9 VH-ZNK msn 66075 Gangurru/Kangaro was registered to Qantas on 5 November and operated its first flight as Boeing 279 from Paine Field to Moses Lake on 5 December. On 13 December VH-ZNK ferried as QF6027 from Paine Field to Los Angeles before continuing to New York/JFK as QF7879. As part of Project Sunrise it then departed New York direct to Sydney where it arrived on 18 December after a flight time of 19 hours 5 mins. VH-ZNK then continued as QF6027 to Melbourne where it arrived on 18 December. It entered service on 25 December when it operated QF153 from Melbourne to Auckland.

787-9 VH-ZNM line number 1035 is planned for delivery to Qantas in January with 787-9 VH-ZNN line number 1051 following later the same month.

A380-842 VH-OQH which had been in Dresden for planned maintenance since 22 October departed there on 19 December as QF6016 for Sydney where it arrived on 20 December after a flight time of 18 hours 27 mins. VH-OQH returned to Qantas service on 20 December when it operated QF17 from Sydney to Los Angeles.

A380-842 VH-OQJ which had been in Abu Dhabi for planned maintenance since 9 October ferried back into Sydney on 10 December as QF6010. VH-OQJ then returned to service on 12 December when it operated QF11 from Sydney to Los Angeles.

747-438ER VH-OEE operated the final planned service by type from North America when it departed San Francisco on 3 December as QF74 to Sydney where it arrived on 5 December.

747-438ER VH-OEG operated an Antarctic charter on 17 November from Sydney to Sydney as QF2904.

QantasLink 717-231 VH-NXM Strzelecki National Park arrived back in Perth on 1 November from Seletar and Broome after completing its planned maintenance.

717-231 VH-NXO departed Perth on 2 November for Broome and Seletar and planned maintenance before returning to Perth via Broome as QF6251 on 14 December.

Fokker 100 VH-NHZ as NWK6683 departed Perth on 19 November for Port Hedland and planned maintenance at Seletar.

Jetstar A320-232 VH-JQL has been transferred from operations with Jetstar to those of QantasLink/Network Aviation. VH-JQL was painted in QantasLink colours by Flying Colours in Townsville and on 8 November it departed Townsville for Melbourne as JQ7993 (arriving Melbourne 9 November). VH-JQL remained in Melbourne until 14 November when it ferried to Perth as JQ7990 and once again it was hangared until 28 November when it entered service with QantasLink/Network Aviation as NWK2650 from Perth to Newman.

JETSTAR CEASES DASH 8 OPERATIONS IN NEW ZEALAND

Jetstar commenced domestic RPT services in New Zealand with Dash 8-Q315 equipment on 1 December 2015, and withdrew operations with these aircraft in New Zealand on 30 November 2019.

Dash 8-Q315 VH-SBI was withdrawn from Jetstar service in New Zealand on 30 November after operating Jetstar 376 from Nelson to Auckland. On 4 December as QantasLink 719 it ferried from Auckland to Norfolk Island and Brisbane. VH-SBI remained in Brisbane until 24 December when it ferried to Townsville for painting in QantasLink colours.

Dash 8-Q315 VH-TQD was withdrawn from service on 30 November after operating Jetstar 378 from Nelson to Auckland. On 4 December as Jetstar 718 it ferried from Auckland to Norfolk Island and Brisbane before continuing to Townsville on 6 December for repainting in QantasLink colours.

Dash 8-Q315 VH-TQK was withdrawn from service in New Zealand after operating Jetstar 376 from Nelson to Auckland. The following day VH-TQK ferried from Auckland to Norfolk Island and Brisbane and after overnighting continued as QLK679 from Brisbane to Townsville where it was painted in QantasLink colours. VH-TQK Tathra as QLK673 departed Townsville on 8 December for Brisbane before continuing to Sydney as QLK675.

Jetstar DHC-8-Q315 VH-TQL was withdrawn from service on 30 November after operating Jetstar 388 from Palmerston North to Auckland. On 5 December it ferried from Auckland to Norfolk Island and Brisbane before continuing to Townsville for painting 8 December.

Jetstar DHC-8-Q315 VH-TQM was withdrawn from service on 30 November as Jetstar 374 from Nelson to Auckland. On 5 December it ferried from Auckland to Norfolk and Brisbane.The aircraft then ferried from Brisbane to Melbourne as QLK712 on 13 December 13 before returning to service on December 14 as QLK294 from Melbourne to Launceston.

AIRLINE NEWS

In this issue we report the delivery of an A350-900 to Fiji Airways, A320neo to Air New Zealand, 737-300 to Airwork, two BAe 146-200s to Pionair Australia and ATR 72-600 to ANZ Link/Mount Cook while departing was an Alliance Fokker 50 and an ANZ Link ATR 72-500.

Air New Zealand took delivery of A320neo ZK-NHD msn 9207 at Christchurch on 26 November after the aircraft ferried in from Kuala Lumpur and Cairns as ANZ6092. It entered service with Air New Zealand on 6 December when it operated NZ893 from Christchurch to Melbourne.

ANZ Link/Mount Cook ATR 72-600 ZK-MZC msn 1581 was delivered to Christchurch on 22 December after the aircraft ferried in from Denpasar, Darwin and Brisbane as SXI1953.

Airwork Flight Operations took delivery of 737-42C ZK-TLM msn 24813 at Auckland on 19 December after the aircraft completed its ferry flight JTN9150 from Dothan/Alabama, Sacramento/McClellan, Kalaeloa/Hawaii and Pago Pago.

Alliance Airlines Fokker 50 VH-FKW which was being ferried by Southern Cross as SXI1963 departed Adelaide for Darwin on 31 December.

Fiji Airways A350-900 DQ-FAI Island of Viti Levu departed Toulouse as FJ679 on 15 November for Dubai where it arrived on 16 November for display at the Dubai Air Show. The A350-900 then continued to Brisbane on 20 November, Sydney on 21 November and Nadi on 23 November.

Fiji Airways 737-8MAX DQ-FAD Island of Gau was ferried from Nadi to Alice Springs as FJI2001 on 19 November where on arrival it was placed in storage.

Pionair Australia took delivery of BAe 146-200 D-AFZR msn E-2108 at Bankstown on 11 November after it ferried in from Denpasar and Darwin. The aircraft was later registered to Pionair as VH-SYO on 23 December.

BAe 146-200 D-AWUE msn E-2050 was delivered to Pionair Australia at Bankstown on 25 November after it ferried in from Denpasar, Darwin and Alice Springs.

BAe 146-300QT VH-SAJ msn E-3150 ex D-AJAM entered service with Pionair Australia on 17 December when it operated QF7442 from Sydney to Melbourne.

REGIONAL AIRLINE NEWS

In this issue we report the delivery of a Beech 1900C to Vortex Air, a Beech 1900C to Penjet and a Pilatus PC-12/47E to RFDS/Central.

Vortex Air took delivery of Beech 1900C N444GH msn UC39 at Moorabbin on 14 December after it ferried in from the US via the North Pacific ferry route to Manado, Darwin and Broken Hill.

Penjet of Applecross North, WA took delivery of Beech 1900C ZS-TAB msn UC-19 at Jandakot on 24 November after the aircraft ferried in from South Africa via Denpasar and Port Hedland. On 19 December the Beech 1900C which was previously operated in South Africa by TAB Charters was placed on the Australian register as VH-PJQ.

RFDS/Central took delivery of PC-12/47E VH-FNH msn 1913 at Adelaide on 23 December after it ferried in from Denpasar and Broome.

AirCalin DHC-6-300 F-OCQZ msn 412 arrived at Cairns from Luganville on 17 November and after overnighting continued to Dili.

Air Wanganui Commuter registered King Air B200 ZK-PMJ msn BB-1600 on 4 November.

Sounds Air Travel of Blenheim placed PC-12/47 ZK-PLB msn 725 on the New Zealand register on 15 November.

TransNusa Air Services ATR-72-600 PK-TNM was noted at Darwin on 2 December after arriving from Kupang.

BIZJET NEWS

In this issue we report the delivery of a Falcon 900, Learjet 60, PC-24 and Citation CJ-1 while departing was a King Air 350.

Learjet 60 N88MZ msn 60-411 which was registered to Knight Air of Phoenix, Arizona was cancelled from the US register on 8 November on its sale in Australia. The Learjet 60 was then registered VH-RDI on 18 November with the owner Red Dot Air Ambulance P/L of Singapore and the registered operator Seletar Jet Charter P/L of Cammeray, NSW.

Pilatus PC-24 VH-JMU msn 151 was registered on 20 November with MT Air Charters P/L of Newcastle, NSW as the owner and Pilatus Australia P/L of Adelaide as the operator.

Citation CJ-1 PH-FIS msn 525-0515 which was delivered to Essendon on 24 November from Europe via Denpasar, Darwin and Alice Springs was later registered VH-RMB to AGAir Logistics P/L of Stawell, Victoria on 4 December.

Falcon 900 N922JW msn 36 which we reported in Traffic/375 as being delivered to Bankstown on 4 November was cancelled from the US register on 18 November. Falcon 900 VH-CAD ex N922JW was registered to Falconair P/L of Beaconsfield, NSW on 24 December.

Falcon 20-F5 VH-FAI msn 380 of Falconair P/L of Beaconsfield, NSW was cancelled from the register 2 December on its export to the USA as N380CJ.

Falcon 20-F5 VH-PNY msn 357 of Falconair was cancelled from the Australian register on 2 December on its export to the USA as N957CJ.

Gulfstream 350 VH-NKD msn 4086 which was registered to CML #1 P/L of Sydney has been sold in the United States. On 5 November it was registered N486WM to TVPX Aircraft Solutions of Provo, Utah.

Textron Aviation CitationJet/M2 N902MZ msn 525-0902 arrived at Perth on 2 November from Seletar via Christmas Island and Learmonth at the start of a demonstration tour of Australia. It was later noted at Broome on 10 December on termination of the tour.

In propjet news King Air 350 N197MP msn FL-1197 was cancelled from the USCAR on 3 December as it was exported to Australia. As of late December, N197MP is still registered to the US ferry company Rangeflyers Inc of Wichita, Kansas. To date there have been nil reports on its arrival into Australia.

King Air 350 VH-SQR msn FL-939 was cancelled from the Australian register on 20 November on its export to the United States. Now registered N939FS, it departed the Gold Coast on 27 November for Horn Island and after overnighting continued to Yap and Saipan.

King Air 200 VH-OYA which has been a long-time static resident at Essendon was cancelled from the register on 6 November having been withdrawn from use.

Air Service Liege King Air B200 OO-LET msn BB-1473 departed Cairns for Darwin on 17 November and after overnighting continued to Lombok and further stops to Antwerp where it arrived on 21 November.

King Air C90GTi VH-JET msn LJ-1969 changed its registration to VH-TRW on 19 November with the owner/operator being Leppington Pastoral Company P/L of Bringelly, NSW.

FERRY FLIGHTS

Basler BT-67 C-GGSU which is operated by CGG Aviation arrived at Broome from Seletar and Denpasar on 21 November before continuing to Derby and Jandakot on 5 December.

TAB Charters Beech 1900C ZS-TAB msn UC-19 arrived at Jandakot from Denpasar and Port Hedland on 24 November. It was later registered VH-PJQ on 19 December to Penjet P/L of Applecross North, WA.

Cessna 208 N208RP msn 20800661 which is registered to TVPX ARS Inc of North Salt Lake arrived at Cairns on 1 December after crossing the Pacific from Monterey/CA via Honolulu, Majuro and Honiara.

Cessna 208B N881SE msn 208B5456 (Traffic/375) departed Perth on 13 November for Meekatharra and Broome and after an overnight stop continued to Kupang.

Cessna 208B N522EX which was on a demonstration tour of Australia departed Essendon on 11 November for Charleville and Cairns. It then departed Cairns for Normanton and Darwin on November 14 before continuing to Kupang on 15 November and then to Denpasar, Halim and Seletar on 16 November.

Cessna P210N N210BA msn P21000158 registered to AGCT of Oklahoma City arrived at Mildura on 26 November from Seletar, Denpasar, Darwin and Alice Springs.

Diamond DA-62 D-IPIT was noted departing Essendon for Bankstown on 10 November.

Diamond DA-42 N566CB departed Bankstown for Lightning Ridge on 20 November before it continued to the Gold Coast and Longreach on 21 November.

Pilatus PC-21 HB-HWU call sign PCH80C which was on delivery to the RAAF as A54-047 arrived at East Sale on 25 November from Darwin, Alice Springs and Adelaide.

Pilatus PC-21 HB-HWV call sign PCH81T which was on delivery to the RAAF as A54-048 arrived at East Sale on 25 November in company with HB-HWU.

Pilatus PC-21 HB-HWW call sign PCH82R which was on delivery to the RAAF as A54-049 arrived at East Sale on 25 November in company with HB-HWU and HB-HWV.

Quest Kodiak N195KQ msn 100-0195 arrived at Perth from Jandakot on 7 November.

N195KQ was cancelled from the US register on 22 November on its export to Australia and on 27 November it was registered VH-KGO to Airflite P/L of Perth Airport, WA.

Quest Kodiak P2-NTK arrived in Cairns from Port Moresby on 26 November and after overnighting returned to Port Moresby.

Helicopteres Helicarrier Sikorsky S-61N C-FIZA msn 61491 (above) was noted at Essendon on 12 December.

Kestrel Aviation Sikorsky UH-60A N9FH was noted at Maroochydore on 8 November after ferrying in from Toowoomba

HEAVY METAL

Eva Airways A318-112CJ B-55411 arrived at Brisbane from Davao on 25 December before continuing to the Gold Coast on 28 December. It departed the Gold Coast for Sydney on 29 December.

Royal Air Force Airbus A-400M ZM415 ‘Ascot 4532’ arrived at RAAF Edinburgh from Diego Garcia and Perth on 8 November.

Volga Dnepr An-124 RA-82044 as VDA2397 which was carrying Singapore Air Force helicopters departed Cairns on 10 November for Rockhampton, Darwin and Paya Lebar where it arrived on 11 November. The An-124 then returned to Rockhampton before departing to Paya Lebar on 13 November.

Volga Dnepr An-124 RA-82046 arrived in Perth from Melbourne on 12 November and was later noted at Port Moresby and Perth on 21 November.

Volga Dnepr An-124 RA-82081 as flight VDA2443 arrived in Darwin from Shenzhen on 16 November before departing to Chennai on 18 November.

Cavok Airlines An-12BP UR-CNN as flight CVK7030 arrived in Perth from Halim on 26 December before returning to Halim on 27 December.

CGG Aviation Basler BT-67 C-GGSU arrived at Broome from Seletar and Denpasar on 22 November before continuing to Jandakot on 5 December.

Crystal 777-200LR P4-XTL arrived at Melbourne on 9 December after a 17 hour flight direct from Acapulco. It then remained in Melbourne until 16 December when it departed for Los Angeles.

Jet Magic 757-23A/W 9H-AVM as JMK410 arrived at Brisbane from Auckland on 10 November. The 757 which was being operated on charter to the U2 pop group carried the name ‘U2-The Joshua Tree Tour 2019’ was later reported at Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney before it departed Perth for Singapore on 28 November.

Thomson Airways 757-28A/W G-OOBD as TOM941 arrived in Cairns from Lima, Easter Island, Papeete and Apia on 8 November.

Thomson Airways 757/28A/W G-OOBF arrived at Avalon from Port Vila on 4 November and later the same day continued to Launceston. G-OOBF departed Launceston for Solo City on 6 November before continuing to Yogyakarta on 8 November.

737-7BC/BBJ N666ML operated by HK Bellawings Jet of Shanghai arrived in Darwin on 27 November7 before continuing to Cairns on 29 November.

737-7JB/BBJ VP-CKG was noted at Sydney on 8 November.

Conair RJ85 C-GVFT arrived at Avalon on 28 November from Abbotsford/BC via Oakland, Honolulu, Majuro and Honiara.

Columbia Helicopters BV-234LR P2-CHY arrived in Cairns from Daru and Horn Island on 16 December before continuing to Townsville, Mackay and Emerald on 17 December.

BC Aircraft Leasing of Albuquerque DC-10-30 N17085 call sign ‘Bomber 911’ arrived at RAAF Richmond from Santa Monica/CA via Honolulu and Pago Pago. The aircraft carries the titles 10 Tanker Air Carrier on its forward fuselage.

Italian Air Force C-130J-30 MM62196 was noted at Richmond on 16 December.

Coulson Lockheed EC-130Q N130FF departed Chino for Hilo on 5 November before arriving at RAAF Richmond from Norfolk Island on 8 November.

Lockheed L-382G N401LC operated by Lynden Air Cargo as LYC401 arrived in Port Moresby from Ujung Pandang on 19 November.

Lockheed L-382G N402LC operated by Lynden Air Cargo as LYC402 departed Port Moresby on 22 November for Ujung Pandang and Paya Lebar.

Erickson Air-Crane S-64E N194AC/741 was noted at Moorabbin on 20 November while Erickson Air-Crane S-64E N243AC/740 (below) Marty had taken up residence at Essendon by 26 November.
