Supersonic makes for a smaller world, or does it?

The search for a child of Concorde has been underway for years with most developers looking at smaller, business jet-sized replacements. One US company is being more adventurous and thinks it can offer airlines a larger supersonic alternative.

Joe Wilding, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Denver, Colorado-based Boom Supersonic has a slightly different take on the notion that the world is more connected today and that supersonic air travel will make the world a smaller place.

“We think it makes your world larger. What that means is if there is more of the world that is accessible to you, and you can get connected to it more quickly, then that connection allows you to do more business, to experience other cultures and to improve your understanding of the world in ways that are limited when it takes a long time to get to every corner,” he said.
