CASA quick to assist Airvan operators
Credit is due to CASA in their recent handling of the tragic GA-8 Airvan accident overseas. This event resulted in an immediate grounding in most countries around the world, as is normal practice in such cases when a catastrophic inflight failure occurs.
They dispatched their most experienced structures engineer to the scene as soon as they could. They assisted in the investigation which quickly discovered which component failed and determind why. Based on that data CASA was able to lift the grounding immediately. CASA are aware of the significant financial impacts that were felt by several Australian GA-8 operators, even with the speedy resolution.
