Lose Your Class 1 Medical, Lose Your Job

A Class 1 medical certificate is a ‘must have’ for commercial aviators.

Most of us understand that the maintenance of overall health and wellbeing takes work. When it comes to a commercial flying career, that translates to sustained effort and long-term commitment to stay on top of medical requirements.

The rewards are worth it. The loss of a Class 1 throws up some tough medical challenges around re-qualification. Aim to “maintain” rather than “regain”, though, clearly, there will always be circumstances where fate intervenes with an injury or other incapacity.
