That winning feeling in Cannes

When I departed Sydney for round two of this year’s Red Bull Air Race World Championship to be held in Cannes, France I was a little nervous about how we would go.

It would be the second race with the new team, and new sponsor, though we had a lot going on. Following on from the first race of the series in Abu Dhabi, the aircraft had been flown back to Europe and then trucked to Bruchsal, Germany to the DG factory. Our goal was clear, we were working on ways to reduce the weight and correct a few centre of gravity (CoG) and handling issues.
