The launch of non-stop flights between Perth and London on March 24 is arguably the biggest advance in aviation for Western Australia since the advent of the jet era in the early 1960s.
The boost for the WA economy cannot be underestimated, with the service putting Perth firmly on the international tourism and convention map. It is difficult to estimate the value of free advertising this service has provided for WA tourism, but it would be hundreds of millions of dollars.
