Engines run on fuel, not water

After the blue skies of summer comes the wet weather of autumn winter and spring and with that special considerations. In the north it is the wet season.

When one thinks of rain the first consideration is to ensure that it does not get into the fuel tanks. If it does then it must be found and removed before flight.
Some fuel tank caps are concave and are water traps while others are umbrella shaped and protect the tank entry. Both can let water into the tank if there is a leaky seal. It can even get in via fuel tank vents.
