Warbirds
Warbird collection for sale
An interesting collection of warbird and other aircraft has recently come onto the market. Don Brown of Kongwak, Vic. is selling his collection of aircraft that he has built up over many years. Don has no less than two Ceres crop duster aircraft, a Wirraway, two Boomerang fuselages, a Thorp T-18 (incomplete), a CAC Winjeel (see elsewhere in this column) plus a long lost North American T-28D Trojan.
The Trojan is one brought in by Col Pay many years ago but has remained in storage ever since. The Trojan is s/n 51-7493 msn 739. It is powered by a Wright R1820-80 radial engine driving a three bladed propeller. The Trojan is dismantled but complete. A good project for a warbird enthusiast wanting to build up one of these aircraft over a period of time.
