The Australian Defence Force is embarking on its most complex ever command and control project, designed to achieve what no other nation has yet fully achieved, an integrated air and missile defence (IAMD) system.
Under AIR 6500, the ADF plans to link together all the various sensors and capabilities to create a system of systems to allow the speediest possible detection, decision and response to the full spectrum of future air and missile threats to the Australian mainland and deployed forces.
