Mustang ready to fly
Peter Gill’s CAC CA-18 Mustang VH-URZ/A68-199 is almost ready to fly. The aircraft, located at Tyabb, Victoria had its first engine run on November 28 and a taxi check the next day. It may well be that the aircraft has completed its first flight by the time these words are read.
Peter’s Mustang has had several markings/serials allocated to it over the years. Starting with the RAAF as A68-199 it later took up the Australian civil registration of VH‑BOZ. A move to transport it to the UK by the late Doug Arnold was foiled by Australian Customs and hence it did not become G-MUST (!). Held in store at RAAF Point Cook it was later traded for several WW1 replica aircraft and eventually made its way to Tyabb.
