Early delivery for additional Foxtrot Chinooks
The Australian Army has secured early delivery of its three additional new Boeing CH-47F Chinooks.
The first new machine will arrive “in about a month,” Commander 16 Aviation Brigade, Brigadier Michael Prictor, told Australian Aviation on May 11. “There was a window of opportunity on the production line to get another three so we seized these and we will have them all very soon. ” The new Defence White Paper’s Integrated Investment Program (IIP) document, released in February, confirmed the acquisition of three additional CH-47F Chinooks (for a total of 10), a decision pre-empted by a US Defense Security Cooperation Agency announcement late last year.
