Australia is acquiring two Gulfstream G550 business jets to be modified for intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and electronic warfare (ISREW) missions
The Australian Department of Defence has confirmed that the federal government is acquiring two new-build Gulfstream G550 business jets that will be modified to provide an intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance and electronic warfare (ISREW) capability to support Australian Defence Force (ADF) operations.
The G550 purchase was revealed when the US Department of Defense (DoD) announced on December 28 that a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program contract valued at US$93.6 million had been awarded to L-3 Mission Integration in Texas.
