Traffic

The July to December deliveries consisted of one A330-200, two A320s, one 777-300ER, three 787‑9s, three 787-8s, seven 737‑800s, one RJ85, one E190 and two Fokker 100s.

July deliveries were 787-8 VH‑VKF to Jetstar in Melbourne on the 3rd; 787-9 ZK-NZE to Air New Zealand in Auckland on the 11th; A320-232/S ZK-OXF to Air New Zealand in Auckland on the 25th; and 737-838 VH-XZL Flinders to Qantas in Brisbane on the 30th.

August saw the arrival of 737‑838 VH-XZM Coonawarra to Qantas in Brisbane on the 6th; 787‑8 VH‑VKH to Jetstar in Cairns on the 16th; and 787-8 VH‑VKG to Jetstar in Cairns on the 26th.

September deliveries were 737‑8FE VH-YIZ Black Rock to Virgin Australia in Brisbane on the 1st; 737-838 VH-XZN Wagga Wagga to Qantas in Brisbane on the 4th; Fokker 100 VH-FZI toVARA in Perth on the 5th; 737‑8FE VH‑YIW Mona Vale Beach to Virgin Australia in Brisbane on the 19th; A330-243 VH-XFJ Gnaraloo Bay to Virgin Australia in Brisbane on the 24th; 777‑319ER ZK-OKS to Air New Zealand in Auckland on the 27th; and 787-9 ZK-NZF to Air New Zealand in Auckland on the 29th.

October saw the arrival of 737-838 VH-XZO Leichardt to Qantas in Brisbane on the 8th and Fokker 100 VH-FZH to VARA as PH‑CXF in Perth on the 27th.

November deliveries were E190‑100LR VH-NJA to Cobham as D-AEMG in Adelaide on the 9th and 737-838 VH-XZP James Strong to Qantas in Brisbane on the 19th.

December saw the arrival of RJ85 VH-NJW to Cobham as G-CDYK in Adelaide on the 1st; 787-9 ZK-NZG to Air New Zealand in Auckland on the 5th; and A320‑232/S VH-VFY to Jetstar in Melbourne on the 8th.

Of note was that 767-35D(ER) CR-TRW was leased by Air Niugini from EuroAtlantic Airways to cover planned maintenance from November 29 until February 28.

Jet airliner deliveries January-June 2015

For the six months to June 30 2015 a total of nine commercial jet aircraft were delivered to operators in our region. This compares with figures 20, 31, 23, 26 and 11 for the first six months 2010-2014. The January to June deliveries were three A320s, one 787-8, two 737-800s, one RJ85 and two Fokker 70s.

January saw the arrival of 787-8 VH-VKI to Jetstar in Melbourne on the 29th.

February’s delivery was A320‑232/S ZK-OXG to Air New Zealand in Christchurch on the 24th.

March saw the arrival of A320‑232/S ZK-OXH to Air New Zealand in Christchurch on the 3rd and 737-8FE VH-YIY Stanwell Park to Virgin Australia in Melbourne on the 7th.

April deliveries were A320‑232/S ZK-OXI to Air New Zealand in Christchurch on the 15th and Fokker 70 P2-ANR to Air Niugini in Port Moresby on the 18th.

May saw the arrival of RJ85 VHNJU to Cobham as G-CIKF in Adelaide on the 26th and 737‑808 DQ-FJN to Fiji Airways in Nadi on the 27th.

Delivered in June was Fokker 70 VH-NKU to Alliance in Brisbane on the 12th.

Jet airliner departures July-December 2014

For the six months to December 2014 a total of 17 jet airliners were removed from service and disposed of. They comprised two A330‑200s, two A320s; two 747-400s; seven 767-300s; three 737-300s and one DC-8-70. Combined with the 14 departures from January- June 2014 this brought the 2014 calendar year departures total to 31. By comparison commercial jet departures for the years 2009 to 2013 were 25, 16, 29, 43 and 33.

July saw:

»»Airwork 737-377 ZK-SLA depart Auckland on the 25th for Brisbane, Darwin and Kuala Lumpur. The 737 was cancelled from the New Zealand register on August 4 and was later delivered to Blue Air as YR‑BAC.

»»Air New Zealand 747-475 ZK‑SUH ferried from Aucklandon the 28th to Los Angeles and Victorville where it was placed in storage.

August departures were: »» Qantas 767-338ER VH-OGG from Sydney on the 12th to Los Angeles and Victorville where it was placed in storage.

»» Qantas 767-338ER VH-OGK from Sydney on the 15th to Victorville where it was placed in storage.

»» Virgin Australia A330-243 VH‑XFA from Melbourne on the 17th to Singapore for end of lease maintenance. On November 7 now registered PR-AIY the A330 was delivered to AZUL Linhas Aereas Brasileiras.

September departures were: »» Virgin Australia A330-243 VH‑XFB from Melbourne on the 16th to Singapore for end of lease maintenance. On December 16 now registered PR-AIX the A330 was delivered to AZUL Linhas Aereas Brasileiras.

»» Qantas 767-338ER VH-OGR ferried from Sydney on the 19th to Victorville where it was placed in storage.

»» Jetstar A320-232 VH-VQYferried from Melbourne on the 21st to Darwin and Seletar for end of lease maintenance. It was registered EI-FGD to Hong Kong Aviation Capital before being leased to Hong Kong Express as B-LCE on December 15 ’14.

»» Qantas 767-338ER VH-OGN ferried from Sydney on the 28th to Victorville where it was placed in storage. The 767 was placed on the US register on March 12 ’15 as N328BC to BCC Equipment Leasing Corporation of Seattle.

»» Air New Zealand 737-3K2 ZK‑NGK, which was withdrawn from service in March 13, was reduced to spares at Christchurch by September ’15.

October departures were: »» Air New Zealand 737‑33A ZK‑NGP ferried from Christchurch on the 2nd to Apia, Honolulu and Goodyear, Arizona where it was placed in storage. It was cancelled from the register March 16 ’15 when sold to Kahala Aviation as N175CR.

»» Transpacific Heavylift Airlines DC-8-73F OB-2059P departed Brisbane on the 5th for Kuala Lumpur.

»» Air New Zealand 747-419 ZK‑NBV ferried from Auckland on the 13th to Los Angeles and Roswell, New Mexico on delivery to AerSale which registered the aircraft N342AS. It was then delivered in January to Wamos Air as EC-MDS before being leased to Saudi Arabian Airlines.

»» Qantas 767-338ER VH-OGJ ferried from Sydney on the 24th to Victorville where it was placed in storage. It was placed on the US register on January 23 ’15 as N324BC to BCC Equipment Leasing of Seattle.

November departures were: »» Qantas 767-338ER VH-OGS from Sydney on the 10th to Alice Springs where it was placed in storage.

»» Jetstar A320-232 VH-VQB ferried from Melbourne on the 11th to Darwin and Seletar for end of lease maintenance. The following February the A320 was delivered to Viva Aerobus as XA‑VAH.

December’s departure was Qantas 767-338ER VH-OGI from Sydney on the 11th for Victorville where it was placed in storage. It was placed on the US register on May 8 ’15 as N304BC to BCC Equipment Leasing of Seattle. Of note was that: »»Qantas 737-476 VH‑TJJ, which had been stored at Victorville since October ’13, was purchased by AFO aircraft of New Zealand and placed on the US register as N938NZ on October 8 ’14.

»»Qantas 737-476 VH-TJK, which had been stored at Victorville since April ’13, was purchased by AFO Aircraft of New Zealand and placed on the US register as N937NZ on August 27 ’14.

»»Qantas 737-476 VH-TJL, which had been stored at Victorville since May ’13, was purchased by AFO aircraft of New Zealand and placed on the US register as N939NZ on December 4 ’14.

»»Qantas 737-476 VH-TJX, which had been stored at Victorville since March ’14, was cancelled from the register on December 5 ’14 on its sale to Comair as ZS-OAT.

»»Qantas 737-476 VH-TJZ, which had been stored at Victorville since October ’13, was cancelled from the register on September 25 ’14 on its sale to Comair as ZS‑OAR.

»»Air New Zealand 737-3U3ZK‑NGD was withdrawn from service on July 13 ’14 and sold to Nauru Airlines. After maintenance at Subang the 737 was delivered to Nauru Airlines in Brisbane on November 2 ’14 as VH-ONU.

»»Jetstar A320-232 VH-VQD was withdrawn from service on May 4 ’14 and delivered to Aircalin as F-OZNC on August 5 ’14.

»»A320-232 VH-XUH msn 6136 was registered to Tigerair on July 9, but was cancelled from the register on September 12 as ‘aircraft delivery cancelled’.

The A320, now a Sharklet-fitted A320‑232/S, was delivered to Jetstar Pacific as VN‑A561 on October 22.

Jet airliner departures January-June 2015

For the six months to June 30 2015 nine jet airliners were removed from service, comprising one A330-200, one 747-400, five 767-300s, one 737‑400 and one 737-300.

January saw: »» Qantas 767-338ER VH-OGT depart Sydney on the 2nd to Alice Springs where it was placed in storage. On June 5 it was ferried from Alice Springs to Paya Lebar where it was placed on the US register as N196CR.

»»Qantas 767-338ER VH-OGM ferried from Sydney on the 7th to Alice Springs where it was placed in storage.

»»Qantas 767-338ER VH-OGU ferried from Brisbane on the 9th to Alice Springs where it was placed in storage.

»»Qantas 767-338ER VH-OGO ferried from Brisbane on the 10th to Alice Springs where it was placed in storage. On June 19 it was placed on the US register as N371CM and on June 30 departed for Bombay.

»»Airwork 737-4Q8(SF) ZK‑TLF ferried from Brisbane on the 16th to Darwin, Kuala Lumpur and stops to Bucharest for end of lease maintenance. It was cancelled from the New Zealand register on March 10 ’15.

»»Qantas 767-338ER VH-OGL ferried from Sydney on the 23rd to Victorville where it was placed in storage. It was later placed on the US register as N326BC on April 8 ’15 to BCC Equipment LeasingCorporation of Seattle.

March saw Qantas 747‑438 VH‑OJA, which had been donated to the HARS museum at Albion Park, make its final flight from Sydney to Albion Park on the 8th.

May saw: »»Air New Zealand 737-33A ZK‑NGR, which was withdrawn from service in Christchurch on March 28, was sold to Kahala Aviation. Registered N460KA the 737 departed Christchurch on the 5th for Pago Pago, Kalaeloa, Ontario/CA and Tampa.

»»Qantas A330-203 VH-EBH ferried from Singapore to Paya Lebar on the 12th for end of lease maintenance prior to planned modification to an A330-200 MRTT (KC-30A), for the RAAF.

Of note was that: »»737-3U3 ZK-NGH 25607 of Air New Zealand was withdrawn from service on November 5 ‘14 and sold to Nauru Airlines. After maintenance at Subang it was delivered to Nauru Airlines in Brisbane on February 18 ’15 as VH-YNU.

»»Qantas 737-476 VH-TJI, whichhad been stored at Victorville since February 5 ’14, was purchased by AFO Aircraft of New Zealand and placed on the US register as N934NZ on March 27 ’15.

»»Qantas 737-476 VH-TJR, which had been stored at Victorville since December 9 ’13, was purchased by AFO Aircraft of New Zealand and placed on the US register as N943NZ on May 1 ’15.

»»Qantas 737-476 VH-TJS, which had been stored at Victorville since March 7 ‘14, was purchased by AFO Aircraft of New Zealand and placed on the US register as N944NZ on February 2 ’15.

Turboprop airliner deliveries and departures July-December 2014

Twelve turboprop airliners were delivered to operators in our region in the six months to December 31 2014.

They comprised five ATR 72‑600s, one ATR 72‑500, two ATR 42-500s, one Dash 8-Q400, one Dash 8-300, one DHC-6-300 and one Harbin Y-12.

July saw the delivery of Dash 8-402 VH-LQQ to QantasLink as C-GWRF in Brisbane on the 25th and ATR 42‑500 F-ORVC to Air Tahiti in Papeete on the 31st.

August deliveries were Harbin Y-12 A3-SPV to REAL Tonga in Nuku’alofa on the 5th and Dash 8-311 VH-DNU to Hawker Pacific in Cairns on the 26th.

September deliveries were ATR 72-600 VH-VPJ Monkey Mia to Virgin Australia Regional Airlines in Perth on the 4th; ATR 72-600 DQ-FJY to Fiji Link in Nadi on the 11th, and ATR 42‑500 P2-KSL to Hevilift as OY‑RUJ in Cairns on the 27th.

October saw the delivery of DHC-6-300 5W-STF to Polynesian Airlines as C-FHKB in Apia on the 4th and ATR 72-600 ZK-MVE to ANZ Link/Mount Cook Airlines in Christchurch on the 6th.

November deliveries were ATR 72-500 YJ-AV71 Betty Emma to Air Vanuatu in Port Vila on the 12th and ATR 72-600 F-ORVS to Air Tahiti in Papeete on the 24th.

December’s delivery was ATR 72‑600 DQ-FJX to Fiji Link in Nadi on the 23rd. Fourteen turboprop airliners were removed from the fleets of operators in the period July to December 2014 and these comprised one ATR 42-500, three Beech 1900Ds, two Jetstream 41s, three Dash 8-200s, one DHC-6‑300, one Dornier‑228‑200 and three EMB‑120ERs.

July departures were: »» Dash 8-202 VH-SDE of QantasLink, now registered C-FEAQ, departed Sydney on the 1st for Pago Pago, Honolulu and Calgary on delivery to Avmax Aircraft Leasing.

»» Dash 8-200 VH-SDA of QantasLink, now registered C-FEBU, departed Sydney on the 1st for Pago Pago, Honolulu and Calgary on delivery to Avmax Aircraft Leasing.

»» Beech 1900D VH-VAZ of Vincent Aviation departed Broome on the 18th for Halim and stops to South Africa where it was registered ZS‑JAG to Awesome Aviation.

»» Beech 1900D VH-VNT of Vincent Aviation departed Batchelor on the 28th for Darwin and Surabaya and stops to South Africa where it was registered ZS‑SEM to Awesome Aviation.

August saw EMB-120ER VH‑TWF of Network Aviation depart Darwin on the 15th for Denpasar and stops to South Africa.

September departures were: »» Jetstream 41 VH-TAH, which was operated by Brindabella Airlines and now registered N42AX, depart Canberra on September 2 for the Gold Coast, Pago Pago, Honolulu, San Jose and Smyrna, Tennessee.

»» Air Niugini Dash 8-201P2‑ANZ, which had terminated its lease, departed Port Moresby on the 9th for Majuro, Honolulu and Calgary and return at Avmax Aircraft Leasing.

»» Dornier 228-201 VH-VJF of GAM was removed from the register on the 18th as ‘cancelled from the register by CASA action due failure of new owner to apply to become registration holder’.

»» EMB-120ER VH-NHZ of Network Aviation was cancelled from the register on the 15th as ‘no longer airworthy’.

»» DHC-6-300 P2-KSF of Hevilift was written off in an accident near Port Moresby on the 20th.

October saw ATR 42-500 DQ‑PSA of Fiji Link depart Nadi on October 25 on ferry to Port Vila, Port Moresby and Ujung Pandang. It later entered service with Island Transvoyager of the Philippines as RP-C4200.

November departures were: »» EMB-120ER VH-TWZ of Network Aviation from Adelaide on the 1st to Ayers Rock, Broome and Christmas Island and onwards delivery to Sahara African Living as ZS-SOC.

»» Jetstream 41 VH-TAI of Brindabella Airlines now registered N41AX departed Canberra on the 9th for the Gold Coast, Pago Pago, Honolulu, San Jose and Smyrna, Tennessee.

»» Beech 1900D ZK-EAA of Air New Zealand Link/Eagle Airways now registered ZS-EAH to Money Aviation departed Hamilton on the 20th for Norfolk Island, Brisbane, Mount Isa, Darwin and Denpasar and stops to South Africa.

Turboprop airliner deliveries and departures January to June 2015

Two turboprop airliners were delivered to operators in our region in the six months to June 2015. They comprised one ATR 72-600 and one DHC-6-300X2.

January saw the delivery of ATR 72-600 ZK-MVF to Air New Zealand Link/Mount Cook Airlines in Christchurch on the 21st.

May saw the delivery of DHC‑6‑300X2 P2-BBM to Tropicair as N34KH in Port Moresby on the 5th.

Nine turboprop airliners were removed from the fleets of operators in the period January 1 to June 30 2015. These comprised one ATR 42‑500, two Beech 1900Ds, one EMB-120ER, one Jetstream 31, one Jetstream 32, one Dornier 328‑110, one Saab 340B and one Metro 23.

January saw: »» Fiji Link ATR 42‑500 DQ‑PSB depart Nadi on the 4th for Port Vila and Port Moresby and onward delivery to Nordic Aviation as OY‑YAL.

»» Metro 23 VH-TWL of Hardy Aviation was registered OY‑NPG to North Flying Air Services before departing Darwin on the 31st for Bandar Seri Begawan and stops to Denmark.

February saw Vincent Aviation Beech 1900D ZK-VAB depart Auckland on the 14th for Tonga on delivery to Chrono Aviation as C-GXCA.

March departures were: »» Vincent Aviation Jetstream 32ZK‑VAH departed Wellington on the 5th for Norfolk Island, Gold Coast, Mt Isa, Darwin and Lombok and stops to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and delivery to Air Century as HI956.

»»Dornier 328-110 N328ST of Inter Island Air arrived at Oberpfaffenhofen on the 14th after completing its ferry flight from Pago Pago via Santo Pekoa, Port Moresby and Darwin.

»»Jetstream 31 VH-SMQ of the IAP Group was cancelled from the register on the 20th after being reduced to parts.

»»EMB-120ER VH-NHY of Network Aviation departed Perth on the 21st for Port Hedland, Surabaja and stops to South Africa.

»»Saab 340B VH-VNU of Vincent Aviation departed Townsville on the 23rd on ferry to Madang and Guam and delivery to Skydive Guam to which it was later registered N421JG. June saw Beech 1900D ZK‑EAK of Air New Zealand Link/Eagle Airways now registered ZS-EAK departed Hamilton on the 20th for Norfolk Island, Brisbane, Alice Springs, Broome and Denpasar and stops to South Africa.

Of note was the number of turboprop airliners changing operators in this period: »»Beech 1900D VH-VAQ of Vincent Aviation (Australia) was re-registered ZK-VAB on July 16 ’14. It was later sold in Canada as C-GXCA (see above).

»»Saab 340B VH-VNX of Vincent Aviation (Australia) was sold to Corporate Air and on July 31 ’14 it was reregistered VH‑VEF.

»»EMB-120ER VH-TFX of Network Aviation was delivered to AirNorth on August 11 ’14 and changed its registration to VH‑ANQ on August 29 ’14.

Ex Vincent Aviation Saab 340 VH-VNU left Townsville for Guam in March. dave parer »»EMB-120ER VH-NHC of Network Aviation was delivered to Air South in Adelaide on November 14 and was reregistered VH-YEG on December 17.

»»EMB-120ER VH-NHA of Network Aviation was delivered to Air South in Adelaide on April 10 and was reregistered VH-YEI on April 27.

»»Saab 340B VH-VNA of Vincent Aviation (Australia) was purchased by Regional Express which placed the aircraft into service on April 14.

»»Jetstream 32EP ZK-VAI of Vincent Aviation was reregistered A3-SKY to REAL Tonga before being delivered to Tonga on June 6.
