Airservices’ Future Airspace System plans to accommodate increasing traffic volumes through a redesign of Australia’s airspace that takes advantage of technology

The Future Airspace System is being developed to position the Australian air traffic management (ATM) environment to accommodate increasing aircraft movements and new airport infrastructure while achieving cost, environmental and safety improvements.

Traffic movement forecasts undertaken by Airbus for the Australia South Pacific region predict a 4. 5 per cent annual growth in passenger numbers until 2033.
