The Marine Corps declares F-35B IOC, but challenges remain

The USMC has declared its Lockheed Martin F-35B Lightning II Joint Strike Fighters available for limited combat operations, ushering in the era of F-35 operations.

Ten F-35Bs of the Marine Fighter Attack Squadron VMFA-121 (The Green Knights), based at MCAS Yuma, Arizona have now achieved initial operating capability (IOC), and are theoretically capable of being deployed on operations.
