More benign capacity growth and ongoing cost reduction efforts have Virgin Australia confidently predicting clearer skies in the year ahead after handing down its fourth annual loss in the past five years.
Those five years have coincided with a period of great change for the Australian carrier, which under the leadership of John Borghetti has been transformed from a cheerful budget airline into an airline group that now competes in the full-service, low-cost, domestic, regional, cargo, charter and international markets.
