Outgoing Chief of Air Force Geoff Brown on leadership and the modern Air Force

As Geoff Brown stepped down as Chief of Air Force in early July the RAAF, with its Super Hornets, Wedgetails, KC-30s and C-17s, is as well equipped as any in the world, and with the possible exception of the latter stages of World War 2, more capable in relative terms than at any time in its 94-year history. And that’s even before the F-35, Growler, P-8A and Triton enter service later this decade.

“I think it’s incredibly balanced, the capability that we’ve got now,” observed the now-retired Air Marshal Brown in one of his last interviews as Chief of Air Force.
