Power + attitude still equals performance

Two airline accidents in recent times stand out in the memory. First there was the loss of Air France 447 over the Atlantic Ocean and more recently, Asiana 214 which crashed on approach in San Francisco. In so many ways these two tragic events were different; night versus day, cruise versus approach and Airbus versus Boeing.

However, there does appear to be common ground in that correct action by the crew to recover the aircraft was possible.
