Commercial jet aircraft deliveries between 2007 and 2011 were 40, 57, 32, 47 and 66.

The July to December deliveries broken down into types were one A330-200, five A320-200s, one A319-100, 13 737-800s, one 737-700, one 737-300, one BAe 146-300/RJ100, three Fokker 100s, one Fokker 70 and one EMB-135LR.

July deliveries were 737-8FE VH-YFJ Surfers Paradise Beach to Virgin Australia in Brisbane on 1st;
737-7L9 P2-PXD to Air Niugini in Port Moresby on 11th; 737-8FE VH-YIJ Pennington Bay to Virgin Australia in Brisbane on 20th; A320-232 VH-VFH to Jetstar in Melbourne on 21st; 737-8FE VH-YIM Bridgewater Bay to Virgin Australia in Brisbane on 27th; and Fokker 100 VH-NHK to Network Aviation in Perth on 29th.

August saw the arrival of BAe 146-300/RJ100 VH-NJH as G-BXAS to Cobham in Adelaide on 1st; 737-8FE VH-YIL Seventy Five Mile Beach to Virgin Australia in Brisbane also on 1st; 737-8FE VH-YIO Lameroo Beach to Virgin Australia in Brisbane on 8th; A320-232 VH-VNQ to Tiger Airways in Melbourne on 13th; 737-838 VH-XZA Leeton to Qantas in Melbourne on 24th and 737-8FE VH-YIQ Hyams Beach to Virgin Australia in Brisbane on 28th.

September deliveries were Fokker 100 VH-NQE to Network Aviation in Perth on 14th; A320-232 VH-VFI to Jetstar in Melbourne on 21st and 737-8FE VH-YIR Cactus Beach to Virgin Australia in Brisbane on 22nd.

October saw the arrival of 737-8FE VH-YIT Lammermoor Beach to Virgin Australia in Brisbane on 3rd; 737-838 VH-XZC Walwa to Qantas in Melbourne on 5th; 737-8FE VH-YIS Casuarina Beach to Virgin Australia in Brisbane on 6th; 737-3Q8 ZK-TLB to Airwork in Auckland on 6th; A320-232 VH-VFJ to Jetstar in Melbourne on 12th and 737-838 VH-XZB Mudgee to Qantas in Melbourne on 24th.

November deliveries were EMB-135LR VH-JGB to JetGo in Brisbane on 14th; A320-232 VH-VFK to Jetstar in Melbourne on 18th; Fokker 70 VH-QQR as YR-KMA to Alliance in Brisbane on 18th; Fokker 100 VH-NHM as PH-AQA to Network Aviation in Perth on 23rd and A330-202 VH-EBV Kangaroo Island to Qantas in Sydney on 25th.

December saw the arrival of A319-132LR VH-VCJ to Skytraders in Melbourne on 20th and 737-86Q P2-PXC to Air Niugini in Port Moresby on 21st.

Of note was that 737-376 ZK-SLA as YR-BAC returned to Airwork in Auckland on July 21 on termination of an overseas lease.

Jet airliner deliveries January-June 2013

For the six months to June 2013 a total of 26 commercial jet aircraft were delivered to operators in our region. This compares with figures of 30, 14, 20, 31 and 23 for the first six months of 2008 to 2012.

The January to June deliveries broken down into types were three A330-200s, five A320-200s, seven 737-800s, one 737-300, one BAe 146-200(QC), one EMB 170-100LR, one EMB-135LR, three Fokker 100s and four Fokker 70s.

January deliveries were Fokker 70 VH-QQV as YR-KMB to Alliance Airlines in Brisbane on 19th; Fokker 100 VH-NHF to Network Aviation in Perth on 19th and Fokker 70 VH-JFE as HP-1732PST to Alliance Airlines in Brisbane on 27th.

February saw the arrival of A320-232 VH-VFL to Jetstar in Melbourne on 18th and Fokker 70 VH-QQW as YR-KMC to Alliance Airlines in Brisbane on 23rd.

March deliveries were Fokker 100 VH-NHI to Network Aviation in Perth on 11th; 737-36N VH-PNI as N325MS to Our Airline in Melbourne on 16th and A330-243 DQ-FJT Island of Tavenui to Air Pacific/Fiji Airways in Nadi on 19th.

April saw the arrival of 737-838 VH-XZD Moranbah to Qantas in Melbourne on 6th; A320-232/S VH-VFN to Jetstar in Melbourne on 7th; EMB-135LR VH-JZG to JetGo in Brisbane on 8th; BAe 146-200QC VH-SIF as G-ZAPN to Skyforce Aviation at Bankstown on 9th; Fokker 70 VH-JFB as HP-1731PST to Alliance Airlines in Brisbane on 17th; 737-838 VH-XZE Pine Creek to Qantas in Melbourne 21st; A330-243 VH-XFG Terrigal Beach to Virgin Australia in Melbourne on 21st and E-170-100LR VH-ANT to AirNorth in Darwin on 26th.

May deliveries were A320-232 VH-YUD Port Beach to Virgin Australia Regional Airlines in Perth on 7th; 737-838 VH-XZF Cygnet to Qantas in Melbourne on the 12th; 737-8FE VH-YFN Ballina Beach to Virgin Australia in Brisbane on 18th and A330-243 DQ-FJU Island of Namuka-i-Lau to Fiji Airways in Nadi on 23rd.

June saw the arrival of 737-8FE VH-YFP Nobby’s Beach to Virgin Australia in Brisbane on 6th; 737-838 VH-XZG Bungendore to Qantas in Melbourne on 7th; A320-232/S VH-VFO to Jetstar in Melbourne on 9th; Fokker 100 VH-XKN as PH-LXG to Skippers Aviation in Perth on 18th; 737-8FE VH-YFQ Whiting Beach to Virgin Australia in Brisbane on 20th and A320-232/S ZK-OXA to Air New Zealand in Auckland on 21st.

Of note was that 757-27B TF-FIW was leased by Air Niugini to cover planned 767-300 maintenance with the aircraft delivered to Port Moresby on May 17.

Jet airliner departures July-December 2012

For the six months to December 2012 a total of 16 jet airliners were removed from service and disposed of. By type they comprised three 747-400s, one 767-300, two 737-800s, three 737-700s, four 737-400s, one 737-300, one BAe 146-300/RJ100 and one BAe 146-100/RJ70.

Combined with the 27 departures in January-June 2012 this brought the 2012 full-year total to 43. By comparison commercial jet departures for the years 2007 to 2011 were 26, 10, 25, 16 and 29.

July saw Virgin Australia 737-7BX VH-VBP depart Brisbane on 9th for Darwin and Subang on termination of lease with the aircraft later leased to Primera Air as OY-PSG.

Cobham BAe 146-300/RJ100 VH-NBU departed Perth on 13th for Port Hedland, Halim and Pondok Cabe and later entered service with Nusantara Air Charter as PK-JKP.

August departures were Virgin Australia 737-8BK VH-VOD from Brisbane on 7th to Kuala Lumpur/Subang where it was later leased to Jeju Air as HL8261.

Virgin Australia 737-76N VH-VBO from Brisbane on 13th to Darwin and Shanghai/Pudong on termination of lease. The 737-76N was later leased to Scandinavian as SE-REX.

Qantas 747-438 VH-OJG from Sydney on 21st to Marana, Arizona where it was placed in storage.

VH-OJG was cancelled from the register on October 3 as ‘sold for parts’.

September saw Virgin Australia 737-7Q8 VH-VBL depart Brisbane on 6th to Darwin and Shanghai/Pudong on termination of lease. The 737-7Q8 was later registered to ILFC as N381LF.

Qantas 737-476 VH-TJH from Melbourne on 17th to Sydney, Apia, Honolulu, Ontario/California, and
Miami where the aircraft was later registered N120BT.

Cobham BAe 146-100/RJ70 VH-NJT which was stored at Adelaide was cancelled from the register on 20th as ‘aircraft dismantled for spare parts’.

Heavylift 737-406F VH-JWL was cancelled from the register on 26th and was then registered N737WF before departing Melbourne on 28th for Auckland, Apia, Honolulu, Ontario and Cecil Field, Florida.

VH-JWL which was delivered to Brisbane on January 28 ’11 never operated commercially while in Australia.

October departures were Qantas 747-438 VH-OJH from Sydney on 3rd to Los Angeles and Marana, Arizona where it was placed in storage. VH-OJH was cancelled from the register on November 20 as ‘sold for parts’.

Virgin Australia 737-82R VH-VOV from Brisbane on 14th to Subang on termination of lease. The 737-82R was later leased to Jeju Air as HL-8263.

Qantas 737-476 VH-TJE from Melbourne on 15th to Sydney, Apia, Honolulu and Victorville where it was placed in storage.

November saw Qantas 747-438 VH-OJQ depart Los Angeles on 1st to Victorville where it was placed in storage.

December departures were Qantas 737-476 VH-TJG from Melbourne on 4th to Sydney, Apia, Honolulu and Victorville where it was placed in storage.

Qantas 767-336ER VH-ZXB from Sydney on 11th to Honolulu and Roswell, New Mexico on delivery to Aersale which later registered the aircraft N283AS.

Airwork 737-3Q8 ZK-TLB was cancelled from the register on 21st as ‘withdrawn’. ZK-TLB, which was delivered to Auckland on October 6, had been purchased solely as a source of spares.

Jet airliner departires January-June 2013

For the six months to June 2013 a total of 11 jet airliners were removed from service and disposed of. By type they comprised two 747-400s, two 767-300s, one 737-800, one 737-700, three 737-400s, one 737-300 and one A320-200.

February departure was Qantas 767-336ER VH-ZXA from Sydney on 12th to Honolulu and Roswell, New Mexico on delivery to Aersale who later registered the aircraft N489AS.

March saw the departure of Qantas 747-438 VH-OJD from Los Angeles on 7th to Victorville where it was placed in storage.

April departures were Virgin Australia 737-76Q VH-VBU from Brisbane on 7th to Kuala Lumpur/Subang on termination of its lease. VH-VBU was later placed on the US register as N488AC.

Qantas 747-438 VH-OJJ from Sydney on 10th to Marana, Arizona where it was placed in storage. VH-OJJ was cancelled from the register on June 4 as ‘sold for parts’.

Jetstar A320-232 VH-VQT from Melbourne on 9th to Darwin and Seletar for end of lease maintenance with the aircraft later entering service with Tianjin Airlines as B-9948.

Qantas 737-476 VH-TJK from Melbourne on 22nd to Sydney, Apia, Honolulu and Victorville where it was placed in storage.
Virgin Australia 737-8Q8 VH-VOU from Brisbane on 28th to Kuala Lumpur/Subang on termination of its lease. The 737-8Q8 later entered service with Jeju Air as HL8287.

May saw the departure of Qantas 737-476 VH-TJL from Melbourne on 13th to Sydney, Apia, Honolulu and Victorville where it was placed in storage.

June departures were Qantas 737-476 VH-TJJ from Melbourne on 10th to Sydney, Apia, Honolulu and Victorville where it was placed in storage.

Air New Zealand 737-3U3 ZK-NGE from Christchurch on 22nd to Shannon via Cairns, Denpasar, Colombo, Al Ain, Trabzon and Belgrade on its sale to K V Aviation as EI-FCW.

Qantas 767-336ER VH-ZXF from Sydney on 30th to Shanghai/Pudong. VH-ZXF was cancelled from the register on July 3 as ‘sold to a US company’.

Turboprop airliner arrivals/departures July-December 2012

Twenty turboprop airliners were delivered to operators in our region in the six months to December 2012, comprising five ATR 72-600s, one ATR 72-200F, one ATR 42-300F, three Dash 8-Q400s, two Dash 8-100s, one DHC-6-400, one DHC-6-300, one Fokker 50 and five Saab 340Bs.

July saw the delivery of Dash 8-Q402 VH-LQJ as C-GNZW to QantasLink in Canberra on 27th and Fokker 50 VH-FKO as OO-VLV to Alliance Airlines in Adelaide on 29th.

August deliveries were Dash 8-Q402 VH-LQK as C-GOAO to QantasLink in Canberra on 3rd; Saab 340B+ VH-VNX to Vincent Aviation in Darwin on 6th; ATR 72-600 VH-FVP Wategos Beach to Virgin Australia in Perth on 7th and DHC-6-400 P2-IRN as C-GVAQ to Hevilift (PNG) at Cairns on 15th.

September saw the delivery of DHC-6-300 P2-KSQ as C-FBBA to Hevilift (PNG) in Cairns on 9th; ATR 72-600 VH-FVN Whitehaven Beach to Virgin Australia in Perth on 11th; ATR 42-320F HB-AFC to Air Niugini in Port Moresby on 30th and ATR 72-201F HB-AFR to Air Niugini in Port Moresby on 30th.

October deliveries were Saab 340B+ VH-VNY to Vincent Aviation in Darwin on 7th; Dash 8-102A VH-QQD as S2-AAA to Skytrans in Cairns on 15th and Saab 340B VH-VEM to Corporate Air in Goulburn on 31st.

November saw the delivery of ATR 72-600 ZK-MVA to Air New Zealand Link/Mount Cook in Christchurch on 6th; Dash 8-102A H4-SOL Megapode to Solomon Islands in Honiara on 14th and Saab 340B VH-VEO to Corporate Air in Goulburn on 14th.

December deliveries were ATR 72-600 VH-FVQ Christies Beach to Virgin Australia in Perth on 3rd; Saab 340B VH-VEP to Corporate Air in Goulburn on the 10th; Dash 8-Q402 P2-PXQ to Air Niugini in Port Moresby on 21st and ATR 72-600 ZK-MVB to Air New Zealand Link/Mount Cook in Christchurch on 30th.

Of note was that Jetstream 32 VH-OTP, which had been leased to Mid-Sea Express as RP-C863 returned to the IAP Group Australia at Bankstown on September 23.

Four turboprop airliners were removed from the fleets of operators in our region in the period July to December 2012 and these comprised one ATR 72-500, two DHC-6-100s and one Metro II.

August departures were ATR 72-500 9M-TAQ of Berjaya Air, which terminated its lease to Airlines PNG and departed Cairns for Kupang on 17th; DHC-6-100 DQ-FEX of Pacific Sun which was sold to the Ikhana Group of Murietta, California registering the aircraft N806RT on 29th; DHC-6-100 DQ-FEY of Pacific Sun which was sold to the Ikhana Group of Murietta, California who registered the aircraft N807RT on 29th.

Metro II VH-MMY of Hardy Aviation, which had been in external storage at Darwin since July 2002 was moved to the Darwin Aviation Heritage Centre on November 15.

Turboprop airliner deliveries/departures January-June 2013

Eleven turboprop airliners were delivered to operators in our region in the six months to June 2013 and they comprised four ATR 72-600s, one Jetstream 41, three Dash 8-Q400s, one Dash 8-300, one DHC-6-400 and one DHC-6-300FP.

January deliveries were DHC-6-300FP VH-AQU to Unknown Destination Services at Bankstown on 4th; ATR 72-600 VH-FVR Yallingup Beach to Virgin Australia in Perth on 7th; Dash 8-402 P2-PXR to Air Niugini in Port Moresby on 7th and Dash 8-Q402 VH-LQH as C-GSZD to QantasLink in Cairns on 30th.

March saw the delivery of ATR 72-600 VH-FVY Marcoola Beach toVirgin Australia in Perth on the 5th.

May deliveries were Dash 8-402 P2-PXP to Air Niugini in Port Moresby on 4th; ATR 72-600 ZK-MVC to Air New Zealand Link/Mount Cook in Christchurch on 16th and DHC-6-400 P2-KSY as C-FVAT to Hevilift PNG in Cairns on 29th.

June saw the delivery of ATR 72-600 VH-FVZ Angourie Beach to Virgin Australia Regional Airlines in Perth on 4th; Dash 8-314 P2-PXL to Air Niugini in Port Moresby on 12th and Jetstream 41 VH-NXE as ZS-NRK to Brindabella Airlines in Canberra on 23rd.

Of note was that ATR 42-320 P2-ALA later VH-AVV, which had been static at Cairns since August ’05 was delivered to Hevilift PNG as P2-AVV on February 10.

February saw Jetstream 32 VH-OTA of Aeropelican cancelled from the register on 7th as ‘aircraft scrapped’.

March departures were DHC-8-102 VH-QQE of Skytrans, which ferried out of Cairns on 5th for Majuro and onward delivery to Air Creebec as C-GUXF and Jetstream 32 VH-OAB of de bruin air which departed Mount Gambier on 22nd for Leigh Creek, Alice Springs and Darwin and onwards delivery to Alphaland Aviation in the Philippines.

May saw Metro III VH-UZD of Toll Aviation cancelled from the register on 10th as ‘dismantled for spare parts’.

June saw Dash 8-102 VH-QQJ of Skytrans depart Cairns on 27th for Majuro and Honolulu and onwards delivery to ERA Airlines as N880EA.
