Virgin latest to launch cadet pilot scheme
With demand for pilots set to soar over the next 20 years as carriers in our region add more and more aircraft, Virgin Australia has become the latest airline to launch its own cadet pilot scheme.
General manager group flight operations Captain Brad Thomann said: “I am proud that Virgin Australia has been able to create a program that makes it possible for more Australians to realise their dream of becoming a commercial airline pilot. ” The airline announced in late July that it had chosen Parafield-based Flight Training Adelaide as its preferred training provider for its cadet program, which will begin in December. FTA also has run pilot training programs for airlines including Emirates, Cathay Pacific and Qantas.
