Helicopter service

The Canberra based Snowy Hydro SouthCare Rescue Helicopter service provides vital EMS coverage to the ACT and southeastern NSW with its single Bell 412 helicopter.

Established in 1998 to meet the need for an aeromedical service for the ACT and southeastern NSW region, Snowy Hydro SouthCare was born from a partnership between the ACT and South-East NSW Aero-Medical Service (ASENAS) – which comprises the ACT Ambulance Service and the Capital Region Retrieval Service (CRRS) – and CHC (Australia). CHC provides South- Care’s single Bell 412 (VH-NSC) and aircrew for the service’s EMS and SAR operations. It’s a partnership that has stood the test of time, according to Snowy Hydro SouthCare base manager and CHC captain, Craig Thomas.
