Part of the safety net

All involved in regional aviation were stunned by the flood disaster that devastated large areas of Queensland.

Regional operators were closely involved in search and rescue, medical evacuation and resupplying towns isolated by floodwaters. The heroic efforts of the helicopter crews were captured many times on our TV screens. Unseen were the engineering and operational teams working round the clock to ensure that the rotary and fixed wing aircraft stayed in the air. Even after the immediate danger has passed, operators will need to support communities for many months to come.
