Most EC135s are sold outside the private sector. Most go to police forces, EMS and SAR operators, even the German and US Armies.

So why, I wondered, would a private owner consider buying a helicopter as large and complex as this, even supposing he or she could afford it? There are several possible reasons. People might want to upgrade to a bigger, more powerful machine, to carry more passengers and/or luggage. The EC135 can seat up to seven in comfort, has a vast amount of luggage space, and you are unlikely to have to worry about running out of power.
